TOPIC: Hook Lighthouse day trip

Hook Lighthouse day trip 5 months 3 weeks ago #24374

I'm planning a non-kayaking day trip to Hook Head this Friday.

Any recommendations on good cafe's or chippers nearby for lunch? We have a high bar now after The Little Saltee in Kilmore Quay last year!

Also, any nearby adventures to recommend for the afternoon, along the lines of mini hikes, zip lines or climbing?

Thanks, Geraldine.

There is a 5km walk/loop around Hook Head to Slade Harbour, and back to Hook Head by road.

Tintern Abbey might not be open, but some very nice walks around it.

Tintern Abbey

Enjoy your day out.

Hi Geraldine, the Hook Lighthouse Cafe do some good food. mThere is a walk from the Lghthouse to Slade Harbour along the coast, a few walls to climb but nothing serious. Keep an eye out for fossils in the limestone around the hook - Slade walk. Next best stop for food is Fethard Village
