Greg Quinn of East Coast Canoe and Kayak has kindly extended a 10% discount (5% on boats) to all members of East Coast Sea Kayaking Club, when you show your membership card. They're a retailer of canoes, kayaks, clothing and related equipment. The shop is based at Donabate, Co. Dublin, just off the M1. See their website and online store for details.

The ICU AGM took place last Saturday, 29th May. It was a small and suprisingly efficient affair with fewer than about 30 delegates attending and the whole event concluded in a couple of hours. Considering that the ICU has several thousand members, it seemed like a remarkably poor turnout. Almost all of the delegates represented clubs with virtually no individual members present, but perhaps that's not suprising given that individuals (not clubs) must form blocs of 10 in order to exercise voting rights!

This meet is in a great location, aimed at paddlers of all levels and suitable for non-kayaking family activities too. Pembrokeshire is in south Wales (UK) and is accessible conveniently by ferry from Rosslare. We're going for a long weekend over the June bank-holiday, 4th - 7th June, camping by the sea just outside St. David's, adjacent to a small natural harbour, Porthclais.

Conal O'Flanagan has kindly offered to take over the mantle of crossword editor for Soundings. Unlike the first, he's done it before! With any luck the next one will be a little easier. If you've any views on the subject, I'm sure Conal would like to hear them.
